Artesia Historical Society Cook Book: Recipes and History Never Get Old
Artesia Historical Society
Artesia, 2009
The Artesia Historical Society was founded in 1993, but the village of Artesia dates back to 1875. Named for its artesian wells, the land was originally attractive as an agricultural center, later developing into residential tracts to fulfill the housing needs of Southern California’s post WWII boom. In 1959, Artesia officially incorporated as a city.
The city’s mix of food offerings reflects its diverse demographics, such as the Indian-owned stores, markets, and restaurants along Pioneer Boulevard.
This cookbook features scap-book style historic photos from the Society’s archive throughout, along with recipes.
